In need of a getaway and some woods time, I set out to do an over night camp on private land that I have been to a few times now. There is so much to explore there but with a winter storm on the way I need to get camp set up quickly.
For this outing I chose to go with a tarp set up in a tent configuration. This was the very first attempt in this particular tarp set up and I had it up and ready to go within a matter of minutes. It could be a favorite. I wanted to set up camp in an open area so that if it were to snow/rain/sleet I would have a front row seat for it.
It is a good thing that I didn’t go into the woodland to camp because during the night I heard limb after limb and tree after tree breaking and falling due to the weight of the freezing rain.
After cooking a load of #bacon and teriyaki noodles I turn in for a long cold night to the sound of sleet and rain on the #tarpshelter. I hope you enjoy this campout in freezing rain and thanks for tuning in to #burnwoodbushcraft
